FileDupe is designed for Windows 98 or later and is an easy-to-use and powerful duplicate file finding and processing tool. DupeFile finds matching files based upon several algorithms: True byte-by-byte comparison, Full MD5 comparison, Partial MD5 comparison, Full CRC32 comparison, or Partial CRC32 comparison. Afterwards, FileDupe allows the user to select which file to keep from the list of duplicates and can either copy, move or delete the duplicates.

Warning!
It's strictly up to you to determine which files need to be kept and which files can safely be deleted. This software only finds duplicate files on your computer, it can not decide which ones need to be removed or can be safely deleted. We strongly recommend you always delete files to the windows Recycle Bin instead of permanently removing them. Only after determining the duplicate files are not needed should you permanently delete them.

Three file matching algorithms
Use byte-by-byte, MD5 and CRC32 to search for duplicate files. Optionally, search for duplicate files with matching file names, matching file dates and times, matching file sizes, include or Exclude zero length (0 byte) files, and use a simplified file content comparison to determine if files match. FileDupe is not free! FileDupe is released under a software marketing method known as shareware. The essence of shareware is to provide you with software that you get to "try before you buy", while rewarding the efforts of the developers. When you think about it, the opportunity to try before you buy is the ultimate guarantee of a product's quality and usefulness to you. In fact, shareware can be just as professionally developed as software that comes in a fancy box (with a lot of hype and yet no way to determine issues such as the "look and feel", etc.), but the price of shareware can be set lower because it does not have to cover expensive marketing costs. You may try FileDupe for free for as long as you wish. If you decide to use FileDupe on a regular basis, then you should purchase a license. You will receive a license key via email that you can enter into the program to change it from demo mode to professional mode.

FileDupe operates in demo mode by default (with no license key present) which has the following restrictions: the unregistered version of FileDupe can only process 25 files at a time for moving, copying or deleting and the total maximum file size (the sum of all the duplicate files) is 2MB or less.

Registering FileDupe is simple and inexpensive, and entitles the registered user to:
